WOMEN’S LAND ARMY.
i Another requisition was made by the Imperial Board of Agriculture early in July for additional volunteers for the Women’s Land Army. Several thousand women have found work on the land in response to the , original National Service appeal made in the early spring, but there was still an urgent demand from all parts of the country for more women workers. The new dc-. -maud did not arise from the immediate necessities of the summer season, as most of the women were required for milking and stock-keep-ing. The women’s section of (lie National Service Department is careful not to disturb existing occupations, and not to reqrnit women already engaged on work of national importance.
