FOXTON RACING CLUB.
The following report will be presented at the Annual meeting of the Foxton Racing Club, which will be held in the Borough Council Chambers on Tuesday next, oth instant, at 8 p.m.;— “The Committee have again the pleasure of presenting the annual statement of accounts lor the year ending July 31st, 1917, for consideration of members, and in so doing have much pleasure in recording a very successful year. “The receipts from all sources amounts to £5,234 10s Od, as against £5,034 4s 5d last year; an increase of £2OO 5s Od. “The stakes given by the Club were increased to the extent of £SO above last year’s figures. The year commenced with a debit balance of £217 12s Id, and ended with a credit balance of £lO3 15s 3d, winch must be considered satisfactory, “The course, grounds, and tracks arc in excellent order, and reflect credit on the. caretaker. “In conclusion, the Committee have to thank all officials for their efforts in bringing the Club still further ahead in its position. “The question as to the desirability of altering the date for the next annual race meeting will eorao up for discussion by members at the forthcoming general meeting. “Nominations for the various offices have been received as follows; •—President, Mr J. R. Mbyte; vicepresidents, Messrs M T . E. Barber, C. Robinson, O. Robinson, F. S. Easton; auditor, Mr Fred. Syxnes; treasurer, Air F. S. Easton; stewards, Messrs J. V. Burr, R. Bryant, G. Coley, 11. Coley, L. R. Freeman, H. G. Hammond, C. Hunt, Dr. G. L. Aland!, A. D. Scott, and 11. S. Thynue. As only nine stewards are required, and ten nominations have been received, jjn election will bo necessary.” Ai
