In the House of Representatives, Mr W. H. Field) has given notice in the House of Representatives of his intention to ask the Minister for Edu-. cation whether the Government cannot see its way to make more adequate provision for the conveyance to and from school of children living considerable distances from country schools, the present condi-' (ions constituting a serious tax on education board finances? Mr Field states that the Wellington Education Board is at present paying for the conveyance of children to two schools alone an annual sum of £IOO in excess of the allowance supplied by the Education Department,-
