In the House of Representatives, Mr W. H. Field (Otaki) asked the Defence Minister whether he would supply him with a reply to the question he asked some days ago as to irregularities alleged to exist at the Artillery Barracks, at Mount Cook, Wellington, as disclosed by a letter written by a driver in the Artillery?. The Minister for Defence had the following question put to him in the House of Representatives on Tucsday by Mr W. H. Field (Otaki): .. Whether he is aware that New Zealand soldiers have been over twelve months in the trenches without change of clothing, and that some of them at the time the last mail left were in rags; and whether definite instructions will be issued that every one of our men shall be supplied with a full outfit -of warm clothing before the European winter begins? The member for Otaki (Mr W. IT. Field) has given notice in the House of Representatives of his intention to ask the Minister for Edu-. cation whether the Government cannot see its way to make more adequate provision for the conveyance to and from school of children living considerable distances from country schools, the present condi-' (ions constituting a serious tax on education board finances? Mr Field states that the Wellington Education Board is at present paying for the conveyance of children to two schools alone an annual sum of £IOO in excess of the allowance supplied by the Education Department,-
