The official opening of the local howling green and croquet lawn.will take jilace to-morrow afternoon, at 2 o'clock. The green is in splendid order, and given fine weather a verv enjoyable time avIU he spent. A vary large imnihev of visiting hoAvlr.,s is expected, the Foilding. Shame a, Palmerston -North and Terrace End Chibs having already signified their intent inn of being represented. mid visitors are also expected from the Levin and Otaki Clubs. A number of lady croquet phi vers from Palmerston North and Levin will also lie present. Several members of the local Club have put in a great deal of work on the green i . vemly, amt its a result of (heir labours the condition of same should leave nothing to he desired. The final touches will be put on it to-m .rrow morning, and all members aMe to do so are requested to turn tip and give a band. Work Avill commence at half-past light.
