A NAVAL BRUSH.
FOUR EAsEAIY Mil's E-SWEEPERS DESTROYED. CHASED ON TO DANISH COAST. London, Septem. 1. The Admiralty reports; Our light forces - destroyed four of the enemy’s mine-sweepers off the Jutland coast. - Copenhagen, Septem. 2. A naval action occurred tins', morning near Kinkjobing. The cannonade was exceedingly intense, and after about an hour four German trawlers were chased ashore in a burning condition. One hundred sailors and a number of wounded men reached land. DETAILS OF THE ACTION. Copenhagen, Septem, 2, British torpedo boats encountered the German armed trawlers off Nymendegab. The latter, under a bombardment, were driven ashore near Bjierregaard. Many corpses have been washed up. German aeroplanes and submarines participated in the fight. A Danish official communique confirms the details of the encounter. A Danish warship was ordered to the scene. The British destroyers withdrew, undamaged. Unofficial accounts slate that the British pursued the trawlers, which grounded sixty-five yards off the shore. The British opened a violent fire, whereupon the Germans jumped into the water. One hundred and twenty-eight were saved. All the trawlers were completely destroyed, and one was shot down. Only two Germans were killed, while several were wounded. "Witnesses state that the trawlers blew up with a great noise, as a number of mines were still on board. Many German warships and seaplanes afterwards visited the scene.
