GOVERNMENT URGED TO PRO- | VIDE NON-MILITARY SERVICE. * Christchurch, Sept. 3. The Christchurch Ministers’ As-, sociation passed the following resolutions; —“That the Christchurch Ministers’ Association, having heard details of the sufferings of conscientious objectors, urges on the Government that all conscientious jectors should be offered absolute-. Iy non-military services of a type useful to the State, and at military rates of pay; tho_ association believes such a settlement would relieve the very grave difficulties that have emerged in administering the Military Service Act.” “That the Ministers’ Association having heard that certain conscientious objectors have been recently deported from New Zealand, protests to the Gov- >4 ernment against such action by thg authorities.”- -
