BOWLING.
A meeting of the commit lee of the local bowling club was held on Thursday evening. It was decided to put on the caretaker on Monday next, and also to have ‘‘working bees” on the green on Wednesday afternoon next and the following Wednesday, All members who can make it convenient are requested to put in an appearance. Details in connection with the official opening, which takes place on the Ifilh instant, were arranged. The draw for the semi-final of the handicap singles competition, unfinished from last season, resulted as follows; — F. Whihley (scr.) plays Wainwrighl (9), Stewart (5) a bye. The arrangement of the ladder for this year's ladder competition was made. Players were divided into four sections, and places on the ladder drawn for in each section. The following are the positions drawn: —D. Whihley, Rimmer, Nye, Hawke, Ball, R. I). "Whihley, Mandl, Petrie, Slowaii, Crawley, M. H. Walker, E.
