BREACHES OF THE PEACE.
At the Magistrate’s Court yesterday, before Mr W r . Cl. Kenriek, S.M., Fred. Robinson, David Mclntyre, James Coley and Mat. Connolly were charged by the police with committing breaches of the peace on August 411;. Defendants did not appear. Constable Woods stated that the two first named started to fight as the result of an argument about a game of billiards, and that Coley and Connolly, in pushing their way through the crowd to see the encounter, also got into an argument, and practically commenced a counter attraction, Beth outbreaks were stopped by the constable. The defendants, who were all first offenders, when served with the summonses, stated that they did not want fo lose time by attending Court, and would plead guilty. Fines of 10s, with costs is, were inflicted in each case,
