'l’lic meeting of creditors in Hie t: 1 1<■ of Williittn (': 1 1( 1 1) Smith, elec-trit-ian, formerly of Foxlon, now of Christchurch,. called for Saturday morning, at Palmerston North, for the purpose of passing a resolution transferring proceedings from Christchurch to Palmerston North, lapsed for want id;' a <|Uoruin. The liabilities are £l3B 18s lOd, and the assets £JO. Bankrupt's statement showed that after working in Wellington for some years, he ,went to Eoxlon in JO 15, and managed a picture theatre there, paying off debts contracted in Wellington. He then, with two others, went into a shooting gallery venture at a military camp, which was'a failure. Afterwards he became pari-owner of a picture theatre in Foxlon, putting £25 into the venture, which was not a success, and the money was lost. In the meantime, through family illness, extra expense was contracted, added to which the house he was occupying was burnt down. Bankrupt received T 1 ‘2O insurance on his furniture, all of which, except £2B, was attached by creditors. With the £2B he went to Christchurch. His present wages were £4 per week at a theatre in Christchurch. He had a wife and three children dependent on him. Following are chief creditors: Collinson and Son £43, R, J. Jones £5 16s, A. W.
