CONSCRIPTION OF PRIESTS.

MEETING OF PROTEST. (Ireymouth, Vest erday. Tlk* Catholics of Reefton, at a meeting lii'ld on Sunday, unanimously resolved 1o resist the conscription of priests and Marisis theological students by every constitutional means. The various speakers gave logical reasons in support of the motion, pointing out that whilst priests never laded to do their share as chaplains, and were always most willing to do so, the thirty-three Marist Brothers could do more good in the Dominion in their sublime labour of love than as combatants. In no other part of the Empire, and not even in Germany, were priests desecrated by force to tight. A copy of the resolution is to be telegraphed to the Prime Minister and the member for the district.
