MILITARY SERVICE BOARD.
A AIAROTIRI APPEAL. At the sitting of the Military Service Appeal Board at Palmerston North yesterday, Hie appeal of John William Bowe, dairy farmer, Alarqtiri (Foxton) on the grounds of public interest, was heard. He was 39 and single. He expected to milk 145 or 150 cows this season. The farm carried about 250 head of cattle altogether. Last year his three brothers and himself did the milking. These brothers do the work this season. Appellant asked for an extension of time in order to put in some crops. One brother had been killed at the front, and another was in camp. Appellant would not have appealed only for the reason of teaching his younger-brother to plough and get .the crops in. Leave was granted till October 16.
