PATRIOTIC SHOP.
The. Patriotic Shop was open as usual on Saturday last, under the charge of Miss Norall .Robinson, and a successful day resulted. (lifts are acknowledged from: Mesdamos Hirers, W. Barber, Perreau, Patterson, A. S. Easton, A. Ross, Yanko, Mitchell, Gibbs, King, Walker, Gay; Jas. Robinson, Kelluw, Misses Spoirs, Hare, Messrs W. Ross, Fraser, Chrystall and F. Robinson. Mrs Barber and Mrs Jennings, with No. 13, were successful with the cake competition, while Mrs Baker, with 03, won the Jacket, and Miss Stella Barber, with 205, was successful with the socks competition. Next Saturday Mrs Kellow and Miss Signal will have charge, and a large supply of apples, which is expected to be the last from Motueka, will be on sale, and a weight-guess-ing competition for a pig is being arranged. Saturday, the 18th August, has been fixed for the next “Men’s Day,” and all the men are asked to keep the date in mind.
