BUDGET IN BRIEF.

The proposals of the Budget are briefly as follows: — Additional provision for remissions of rent to members of Expeditionary Forces and discharged soldiers on the land. Special Avar lax to he levied on incomes at increased .schedule rates. Provision for inscribing loans in Ncav Zealand. Amusement lax. Continuation of Avar bonus to State employees. Increased old-age, military, Avidoavs’ and miners’ pensions. s Additional allowances to soldiers’ dependants. Increase in customs and excise duties.
