Wellington Aug'. 1. The Prime Minister slides that the gasworks strike has been settled. At tlie first conference this morning an agreement was arrived at. Any outstanding points are to bo settled by arbitration, the arbitrator to be the President of the Arbitration Conti, if he will accept the position.
