ALL GERMANY WANTS.
12,500,000 SQUARE MILES. HUN VIEW OF ALLIES’ PEACE TERMS. The Pan-German Union of Mun-' ich publishes . an extraordinary pamphlet, called “Germany’s Future with a Good Peace and a Bad Peace,” in which Germany’s aims are set forth. In a nutshell, a German peace, according to the artist responsible for this pamphlet, Dr. 5 von Gruber, means absolute supremacy over 315,000,000 human beings, living in an area of 12,500,000 square miles. But there is more even than this; — A real German peace- must also cause not only the allies to return 800,000 tons of confiscated German shipping, but also to hand over to Germany 500,000 tons to compensate for shipping destroyed by the allies, and further cession of 50 per cent, of the allied mercantile fleets —about 11,000,000 tons —as a, war indemnity. Germany’s aggregate tonnage, including the Central Powers’ present fleets, would then be about. 18,000,000. The pamphlet devotes many enthusiastic pages to describing all that German genius would manage to get out of: a German peace, and winds up with a glance at the financial situation. A “German peace” would leave Germany with a debt of £250,000,000, while after a “Sehiedeniann peace” the national debt would reach £8,500,000. The German people’s aggregate wealth.after a “German peace” would amount to £20,000,000,000, while after a “Scheidemann peace” it would be merely £10,000,000,000, the same figure as before (he war. THE ALLIES’ TERMS. The pamphlet then sets out what the Pan-Germaniacs regard as the Allies’ terms of peace: — “First: The destruction of practically all our industry, especially our cannon factories. “Second: The expulsion of German commerce from the world market by prohibitive duties and black lists. “Third Alsace-Lorraine and left bank of (he Rhine for France. “Fourth UPosen, East Prussia, and Silesia to Russia. “Fifth: Schleswig-Holstein to Denmark. “Sixth: Heligoland to England. “Seventh: “The Kiel Canal to be neutralised. “Eighth; Luxemburg to France. “Ninth: A reduced Germany, divided into several independent States. “Tenth: All the German colonies taken away. “Eleventh: Belgium and Holland included in a military and commercial union with the Entente. “Twelfth: Galicia and the Bukovina to Russia. “Thirteenth: Bohemia, Moravia, and a portion of Hungary to become a 'kingdom under Russian control. “Fourteenth: The Southern Tyrol and Trieste to Italy. “Fifteenth: Roumania to receive half of Hungary. “Sixteenth: Servia to get Bosnia, Croatia, and Herzegovina. “Seventeenth: Turkey to be divided among England, France, Russia, and Italy. “Eighteenth: Germany to pay £5,000,000,000 war expenses. “Nineteenth: Germany must sur - render her whole merchant licet in compensation for the destroyed ships. “Twentieth: Germany must surrender to the Allies her whole battle fleet and artillery.”
