WORLD’S WHEAT YIELD.
DECREASED YIELD OF 27 PER CENT. The British Board of Agriculture Ims received the following information from (he International Agricultural Institute: — The yield of wheat in IfllG and 15)10-17 is not yet known for the following countries: Germany, Austria-Hungary, Belgium, Bulgaria, Luxemburg, Russia in Asia, Chile and Uruguay; but in the case of Ibe following countries it is known: —Denmark, Spain, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, United States, In-' dia, Japan, Algeria, Egypt, Tunis, Argentina, Australia, and New Zealand. The total yield of wheat in those countries is estimated at 203,381,000 cvvt., or 27.7 per coni, below the yield of 1010, and 10.0 per cent, below I lie average of the five years .1011-15, The carrying of the preceding crop remaining at the beginning of the commercial season (August Ist, 1010, in the Northern Hemisphere, .and January Ist, 1017, in the Southern Hemisphere) together is estimated at 50,484,000 cwt., making the total available supply 343,8(58,000 cwt.
