LITTLE GIRL DROWNED.

SAID TO HAVE BEEN' PUSHED INTO WATEIt. Thames, July 20. A sad drowning, fatality occurred last night. A little girl, six years old, was playing on a bridge at Kerikeri, near Kopu, with two small boys, one of whom is a native, when it is alleged that the latter undressed the girl and pushed her into the water. The alarm was at once given, and flic stream was dragged all night, the body being recovered this morning. The name of the girl drowned was Quinn, daughter of Mr Quinn, I ,P.,ovhose son was recently decorated at the front for bravery. An inquest was opened this afternoon by Mr Lucas (the coroner), and adjourned. Both lads are being detained by the police.
