INDOMITABLE BELGIANS.

PLANS I'OK THE FUTURE,

The imloinilable spirit of the Belgian people is proved by the following fads related by Dutch papers just reeeived. On April 2nd a committee was formed in Brussels, to take the necessary steps for the holding of an international exhibition at Ostend directly after the war. Invitations to participate will soon be distributed in all countries except those known as the Central Powers, It is expected that alPßelgians now abroad will return to their country, as it will oiler to them far bet ter-op-portunities than ever before the war. It is asserted that several steamship companies have already full bookings of many steamers for Antwerp, not only of returning Belgians, but also thousands of Americans who want to visit the ruined cities and the battlefields. The Belgians are already preparing to receive them. The Germans are building concrete trenches all along the Dutch border, commencing at Meerse, The soldiers employed on this are not in uniform. Many labourers from Arendenck district are pressed for this work. This would indicate that the Germans are preparing for a retreat through Dutch Brabant and Limburg.
