[To tlio Editor.] Sir. —1 endeavour to live at peace with by neighbours, but when 1 am kept awake night after n iglit by a howling dog. I feel like challenging the owner of the howling ear to mortal combat. 1 presume not only the slumbers of my own household are disturbed, but...those of other people in (he neighbourhood as well. Will you please inform mo whether such a disturbance comes under the Police Offences Act, or whether 1 would he prosecuted for sending the spirit of the dog on a (light to (lie home of its ancestors? Thanking you in anticipation. —I am, etc., TOILER. [WE would suggest sending a courteous message to the owner of the dog, and failing satisfaction refer (he matter to the Magistrate. —Ed ll.]
