A slidable dale, linin' and place for holding I lm lir-l meeting of !he (‘onncil. “For your information I have to add that the appointment of Town Clerk is, of course, a purely temporary one, and is made for the purpose of enabling him lo preside at Die liisl meeting of Die Counci! until the Alayor lias taken the Declaration required by Section 21 of the .Municipal Corporations Act. The Council itself may, if il desires, coidinu or annul the appointment of Town Clerk (see Section 70)."
