REPORT OF HIS STATE. OF MIND. Christchurch, June 1. Charles Butler, who was condemned to death for tho murder of the girl Helly Foster at View Hill, was examined to-day by members of the commission appointed by the Executive Council. The members of the commission, Dr Hay (Inspec-tor-General of .Mental Hospitals), Dr Trtthy King (superintendent of Seaeliffe Alenlal Hospital), and Dr. Beallic (superintendent of the. Avondale Menial Hospital), visited Lyttelton, accompanied by the Hon. J. A. Hamm (Minister of Justice). The examination of Hie condemned man was carried out, and the report has been forwarded to Hie Executive Council.
