DEFEAT OF LABOUR CANDIDATE. ■ Westport, May 30. At the hy-eleetiou to-day for the Borough Council to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr 11, Larsen, there were live candidate.-, 11. T. Parry leading the poll with ■l-17 voles. The next highest candidate was R. Weeks (Labour) 301 vote.-. .Mr Parry was the Protestant Association's candidate.
