MILITARY SERVICE BOARD.
DISTRICT CASES. At the sitting of the Military Serviee Appeal Board at Palmerston North, the following distinct' eases were dealt with: — John W. Stratford, farmer, Shannon, appealed on the ground of undue hardship and public interest. He said he was 21 years of age, and managed his father’s farms of 415 and 406 acres at Himatangi. On the former farm there were 050 sheep ami 50 cattle, and on the latter 33 cattle. There was no other labour on the farms except casual at >hearing and harvesting. Two brothers were already at the front, and the father had been ill for a. considerable time. Appellant had been twice rejected on enlisling voluntarily, hut had been passed as lit by the Medical Board. Appellant look up the Shannon properly afler being turned down the second Decision was reserved.
The following appeals wore formally dismissed: —-Arthur Ernest Smith, carpenter, Pox ton, and Malcolm Fergus Smith, farm labourer, .Foxton (bulb in camp). James William Liddell Street, Eoxton, Class C2 (no appearance).
