FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.

Tim monthly meeting of the Society was held on Thursday evening, the President, Mr J. Chrystall, being in the chair.

An appeal for assistance was received from (he Y.M.C.A. towards their war funds, which provides help to men in camp and at the front, it was decided to donate the takings of the Patriotic Simp for one Salnrda v in June.

A ,-üb-commiltcc consisting of the President, Secretary and Rev. Raiuc was formed to investigate all appeals from returned soldiers. The matter of making a special effort to raise money, for the Wounded Soldiers' Fund was discussed, end it was resolved to hold a fete or carnival, with .--ports, on .Monday, the 4th Jane, King’s Birthday, and a -lib-committee was formed to draft a programme for submission at a pubbe meeting to he held on Monday evening next, at 8 o'clock, at the Council Chambers. All who are willing to assist are heartily invited to attend this meeting, when commit lees for different events will be elected and full arrangements

On Saturday, the 2GtJi (May, the men will have charge of the .Patriotic Simp, and a special effort is to he made to raise a record sum. The men am tailing up the mailer keenly, and more helpers arc required. The total I a kings of the day will he handed to the Ladies' Patriotic Build In replenish their funds, and in view of the fact that (he ladies have raised a very large proportion of (he money now in hand for the Wounded Soldiers Fund, il is hoped that big' results will follow.
