HEMP AND TOW RETURNS.
The total number of bales of hemp and low graded during March last was 1(1,181, as compared with 1(1,(122 for the corresponding period of last year. For the twelve mouths ended 31st March, 1.1)17, the number of bales graded was 149,S!)8, as compared with 138,275 for Ihe previous twelve months, an increase of 1t,(123 bales. During tlie month 3.458 bales of low wen l dealt with, as compared with 4,51)8 for the corresponding month of last year. For the twelve months ended 31 s( March, 1917, the number of bales graded was 37,529, as compared with 38,889 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 1.3(i0 bales.
•During the monlli the number of bales of stripper slips graded was G 53, as compared with 831 for the corresponding monlli of last: year. Dor the twelve months ended 31-st March. 1317, the number of bales graded was 4,835, as compared with (1,175 for the previous twelve months, a decrease of 1,280 bales.
