FOXTON PATRIOTIC SOCIETY.
The Patriotic Shop was opened as usual lasi Saturday, under the charge of Mesdames John Robinson and Harvey, whose efforts were very successful. The surprise packets created a great deal of interest, and the competitions were (veil patronised. Gifts are acknowledged from; .Mesdames Perreau, Teviotdale, A. Green, Jas. Robinson. A. Salherley, Kellow, Gibbs, Misses I'ervis (Wellington), Woudroole, Speirs, F. Robinson, J. A. Ross, Messrs R. T. Belly, Parkes, Stiles and Malbcsun. Oxley, Ball, Walker .• iml Furrie, Bullard. Betty, O. Robinson, Woodbam. T. Rimmer, Hussey and Greig. Next Saturday Mesdames Alex. Ross and F. Procter will have charge of the .shop.
Members of the I’alriotie Society and all who are interested in patriotic work, are reminded of the meeting' of the Society to he held al the Council ('handier on Thursday (tonight ), :il 7,:i!> o’clock. This is the first annual general meeting of the Society, and the report and balancesheet will be presented, otlieers for the coming year elected, and arrangements made re the celebration of Anzae Day. A proposition to hold a patriotic fete will also be brought forward. A large attendance is argently requested.
