SENSATIONAL AFFAIR.
AT WA IK HIM A IMHSO.V. Hamilton, April Id. A sensational shooting allair is reported from r l e Awanmln. It aj>pears (bat about 7 o'clock last night a man was seen prowling around the Waikeria Prison by a Native prisoner. The latter approached the man, who threatened him with two revolvers if he approached any nearer, lie informed the Native that he was not after him, bn) was after one of the warders. The Native then informed the warders, after which he, again came out in search of the man. who is alleged to have fired at him with a revolver and disappeared into the scrub and darkness. A search was made by the warders, but so far without success. The police are now out scouring the district for the man, who is believed to be an ex-prisoner.
