THE COMING MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
THERE is nothing startling to relate iu connection with the forthcoming municipal elections. The voters list has been closed, and the Returning Officer has everything iu order for an election, Nominations for the Mayoralty ami Council close on the ,111th instant (Wednesday next), and the elections on the 25th (the following Wednesday). Several names have been mentioned as suitable candidates for the Mayoralty, but the mentioning of names is one thing, but getting the consent of those mentioned to oiler their services is quite another. It is safe to say, however, Unit the Mayoralty will not go by default. We are informed that some new blood will be introduced into the Council to Jill the vacancies caused by the retirement of several Councillors who do not intend to seek re-election. As the time for receiving nominations is now only a few days distant, it is hoped that citizens will stir up eligibles to represent their interests for the ensuing two years.
