LEFT LAMENTING.

KETUiLXLXG Tim'PEES ITiO.M THE SOUTH. Christchurch, April it. Many soldiers returning to Wellington from Easter leave in the south were held up at Lyttelton tonight owing to the Mararoa being a full boat. A good number laid booked their berths, but all soldiers arriving by the second express were refused admission to the ferry steamer. About 200 intending passengers were left on the wharf. The blockage was caused by only one vessel being available for the return of the passengers who came south by Ihe Maori on W ednesday, and the Mararoa and Te Auau on Thursday last. Considerable diiliculty was experienced by the disappointed soldiers and certain passengers in obtaining accommodation in the city.
