FURTHER WAR LOAN.
TO J>E RAISED SHORTLY. Auckland, March 29. The fact that a further War Loan will he raised in (he Dominion shortly was emphasised by the Hon. A. M. Myers to-day. Then* can lx* little donht, said the Minister, that in view of (he fact 'that our commitments are so heavy in regard to equipment and maintenance of troops it will he necessary to obtain authority when Parliament meets for a further War Loan. In this connection I would like to point out that it is tin* duty of large in-li-lulions as well as Jinn.-, and individuals, lu put aside as much as possible, so that when the now War Loan prospectus is launched they will he in a position to do their duty and subscribe to (In* utmost limit of (heir available resources. Asked if ho could give any idea as to the amount that would he asked for, Mr Myers said; “The fact that our expenditure directly for war purposes approximates £1,000,000 per month is, 1 think, sufficient indication that (lie sum required will be substantial, in anticipation, therefore, everyone can do his duty by endeavouring to place his financial resources in such condition as (o enable him to lake a portion of the Loan.”
