MINISTERIAL ANNOUNCEM ENT. .Dunedin, .March 15. The racing and trolling conferences will not meet nil the usual date. The Minister for Internal Affair- says either i lit* Government will submit a -chemc to Hie conference for a reduction of racing durthc war. or I lie conference will he asked to take the matter in hand themselves and submit u scheme to the Government. The Government
is aware that (here is a strung feeling throughout tin- country, even amongst facing men themselves, that it is incongruous to have racing going on as usual whilst at the war men are risking ami losing their lives in battle.
