We followed the course of the Otarea stream to the site of the proposed dam, and for a mile or so above this. We found that the stream contained a plentiful supply of water, and in the opinion of Councillors Coley and Henderson, who had previously visited the site, a larger supply existed than at the lime that this matter was reported on by Mr Chenery Suggate, of Auckland.

“We would recommend thul stops ho tiikou to ascertain the cost oi; acquiring- the water rights over the ociiservjilion area."
