ESCAPE IN DISGUISE.

The New York Times states that the widow of the late Mr Sheehy hheJlingtou, who was shot during the Irish rebellion, has arrived in New York with her seven-year-old son, her intention being to write and lecture on the conditions which led to the shooting of her husband. She told an interviewer that she was refused a passport, but succeeded in eluding the authorities, escaping in disguise, despite the difficulties of leaving Ireland under martial law. The immigration authorities at New York, she alleges, were asked to detain her, but failed to recognise her.
