TWENTY-NINTH REINFORCEMENTS.
1,500 SHORT. BALLOT FOR 4,503 PROCEEDING. The national shortage for the Twenty-ninth Reinforcements which mobilise in May, is 1,501, and a ballot for 4,503 names is now' proceeding. The Bay of Plenty escapes the ballot for the third time. North Canterbury failed to supply one voluntary recruit.
