HIGH COMMISSIONERS’ REPORT.
The High Commissioner cabled at noon yesterday as follows; — The hemp market is quiet but firm. It is reported that New Zealand shipments are going direct to America, and there is nothing offering here. The Manila market is stronger. Quotations nominal. Pair £94, coarse £77. Good fair New Zealand £(»(» Ids, fair £(il 10s. March to May shipment good fair £()(!, fair £O4, Manila £OO, coarse £73 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 19,000 bales.
