The Manawatu Herald. SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 24. 1017. THE HAWKE’S BAY SEAT.
THE Hawke’s Bay branch of the Reform League has handed the following statement to the Press: — “An agreement was come to between the leaders of the Liberal and Reform Parlies that during the term of the National Ministry any seat held by either of the respective parties should go, when vacant, to that party without opposition from the other. The Hawke’s Bay seat: having become vacant through the death of Dr. Me Nab, the Liberal Party have the right of nomination, Sir John Findlay having been nominated as the official Liberal candidate, the Reform League will in no way oppose, his election, and, in the circumstances, urges all supporters of the Reform Party to vote for him.”
