BOROUGH FINANCES.

The Borough Treasurer reported at Monday night’s Council meeting as follows: — The following amounts were received during the month of January and placed to credit as under: — District fund account, £206 15s 7d, cemetery account £2O 15s od. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the 31st January, 1917, were as follow: —District fund account, cr., £2lB 13s Id, cemetery account, cr., £3 19s sd, and the ledger balances at the same date as follow: —Cemetery £3 J9s sd, gas works £lls 4s Gd, general £l2B 9s Id, hospital and charitable aid £2G 13s 7d, library £7 14s Id, reserves £94 Gs 7d, sanitation £177 5s Bd, Town Hall £133 Os Id, Whirokino bridge loan £23 4s Id, Shannon bridge loan £ls 4s Id, council chamber and public library loan £3 5s Gd, Whirokino Bridge loan No. 2, £lB 14s 2d, roads and streets loan Xo. 2 £5 19s 7d, Beach road loan £3B 8s (id, all in credit, a total of £791 8s lid.
