Search in every direction lias tailed lu bring to JighL the will of the late Hun. Dr. McNub, if there is any document ol the hind in existence. The deceased gentleman was always reserved in regard to private affairs, and is said to have mentioned some years ago that he would not trouble lo make a will, but would leave the disposition of his property to the operation of the law. This would result in the estate being handed to the Dublin Trustee tor administration, and it is understood that the Public Trust Utllee already has the late Minister’s affairs in hand. The operation of the Jaw in regard to intestate estate in New Zealand would preclude any possibility of public benefactions, but this laid been considered by the deceased in his lifetime, for he made over the whole of his valuable collection of books mi New Zealand to the (,'ity of Dunedin. This generous act caused him some personal inconvenience in coni inning his historical work, and for that reason lie had begun to collect duplicates of many of the mure important volumes.
