SENSATIONAL RUBBERY.
AT PALMEKSim
A sensational ease of robbery by masked armed men has been reported to the police at Palmerston yesterday. When Mr N. H. Sinclair, manager of Watson Brothers' grocery, reached his house he was held up by two men, who were hiding in the garden. They rilled his pockets, but fortunately he only had sixpence with him. Then they marched him a considerable distance down the road to an old gravel pit, where they took the keys of the store from him. Sinclair made an attempt to break away, but one of the men tired at him. He pretended to be hit, and his assailants took to their heels.
On the previous Saturday night a taxi driver was robbed of a small sum of money by two masked men.
