THE MASCOT; OR, HIS MASTER’S VOICE.
0 Ilindenherg, my Himkmberg, go in, my hoy, and win! Our line is growing very long and wearing very thin: Your duty, therefore, need I say, is really crystal clear — You keep it taut, dear hoy, the while I 1 0(h) le to the rear. No more i tender my advice; all no, more cautious grown, I’ll let my trusty Hindenburg act strictly on his own; For weal or woe the die is east, the Rubicon is crossed. And in my faithful people’s eyes the filial dust is tossed. There! J resign my leadership, and to your trusty hand 1 leave the future of our dear deluded Fatherland: The people idolise your name, with them Eclipse is first! The bubble reputation, what ? Lot’s hope it will not hurst. Fight on. old' Hind! I’ll cheer the sick and also cheer the hale; I’ll cheer, cheer oh, till all is blue, and likewise tell the tale. And you shall take the praise or blame, and hold it for your own. That I may keep, when all is lost, my head — and p'raps my throqe.
