LAND AGGREGATION.

THE Feilding Star complains that Feilding’s progress is not equal to its prosperity. “Instead of advancing at a brisk walk,” says our contemporary, “we are going along at a snail’s pace. On searching tor a reason for (his, we* are impressed once more Avith the fact that in the Kiwi tea. and Oroua counties the aggregation of farms is going on all the time, to the detriment of both toAvn and country. It is a bad thing for Feilding when a few more families are jostled off the soil by the land-greedy aggregator. The proofs of the aggregation are so plain, and have been so recently advertised in these columns lhat there is no need to hold them to the light again. It is time, hoAvever, that Feilding people did (heir duty to their district and (irmly dealt with the question in the best possible Avay. The Chamber of Commerce, with the assistance of the member for the district, might find it in their porver to do a very great deal in pressing upon the Government the need for restrictive measures in regard to land aggregation, especially in these days when some of our returned soldiers Avant to become settlers. We suggest that the matter is well worth their consideration, and, in the event of their taking it up in earnest, we shall give every assistance in our power.”
