BOROUGH FINANCES.
The borough treasurer reported at last night’s Council meeting as follows: — The sum of £333 Os Id was received during the month of December and placed to the credit of the district fund account. The balances of the various funds at the Bank of New Zealand as at the 31st December, were as follows: — District fund account, credit, £228 10s Od, cemetery account, debit, 18s, and the ledger balances at the same date as follows: Gas works £42 (is lid, general £l4O 14s 7d, hospital and charitable aid £26 4s 3d, library £l7 Is Od, reserves £145 3s lid, sanitation £207 Os fid, Town Hall, £IOB 4s sd, Whirokino bridge loan £23 Is Od, Whirokino bridge loan No. 2 £lB 11s Id, Shannon bridge loan £ls Is Od, council chamber and public library loan £2 13s 2d, roads and streets loan No. 2, £5 10s 7d, Beach road loan £3B 2s 4d, all in credit, a total of £7OO 10s fid. The accounts at debit were: Imprest cash £lO, cemetery account IBs, roads and streets loan £fi 15s Id, gas works loan £416 4s Bd, and Town Hall loan £l3B, a total of £571 17s Od. SUMMARY.
