THE HEMP MARKET.
HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner cabled this morning as follows: — The hemp market is quiet, but steady. There has been a slight fall in prices all round on account of buyers being uncertain as to the Government’s action regarding freights. Quotations are nominal. Good fair New Zealand per ton £SB, fair £55; government graded fail - Manila £st) 10s, coarse £57. January— March shipment: good fair New Zealand £54, fair £52; government graded fair Manila £SB, coarse £55. The output from Manila for the week was 10,000 bales.
