FOXTON RACECOURSE.
TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT,
The annual report, as follows, of the Trustees of the Foxton Racecourse was adopted at a public meeting held in the Racing Club office on Thursday afternoon: —“The amount in the Post Office Savings Bank on March 31st, 1916, was £24 19s 7d, with a liability of £3 3s ()d for the plan of the road in despufe with (he Borough Council. The accounts have been certified to by Messrs F. Robinson and J. R. Whyte. Owing to the death of one of the trustees, (he lale Mr John Davies, the Board has elected Mr Waller Edward Barber (o fill the vacancy. Since the last annual race meeting (he Club Inns expended about £SO on maintenance of buildings and fences, the buildings and course being in good order. The Trustees regret that owing to the Foxton Borough Council claiming that portion of the road whore it encroaches mi (lie south-west boundary of the Reserve it. has been nimble lo have the same fenced in accordance with the report of the last meeting. The Trustees have taken an opinion from Mr Martin, solicitor to the Municipal Association, and Ins opinion, received a few days ago, is emphatically against, the Foxton Council’s claim. The chairman will interview the Mayor when it is hoped that the matter will be amicably arranged.”
