CHARGE OF ASSAULT.
Westport, Dee. 20.
Walter Thorpe was arrested at Ngakawau on a charge of assault with serious intent upon Patrick O’Connor, whom it is' alleged he stabbed with a knife on Saturday evening, indicting serious wounds in the chest and on the face. U Counoi was taken to the hospital. Thorpe appeared before the .Magistrate s Court to-day, and was remanded to 3rd January.
