AXOTHER ARREST
SECRETARY OF SOCIAL DEMOCRATS IX CUSTODY.
Mr Peter Fraser, secretary of the Social Democratic Parly, was arrested in Abel Smith Street, Wellington, about 7 o’clock last evening, when he was on his way to the ('veiling session of the Anti-Con-scription Conference. He was taken to the Lambton Quay police station. He is charged with “publishing seditious utterance,” the date of the alleged offence being December Kith, and the place Wellington. On this date, which was a Sunday, a mass meeting was held in Alexandra Hall, Wellington, when a resolution was submitted and carried, calling upon Parliament to repeal the Military Service Act. The speakers included Messrs 11. E. Holland (editor ot the Maoriland Worker), P. Fraser, and T. Brindle.
-Mr Fraser is a waterside worker, and has been resident in Wellington for some years past. He hails from Dunedin. He is an active worker in the Socialist cause, and has been associated with the campaign for the repeal of the Military Service Act.
