Yesterday afternoon two rinks from the local club journeyed in quest of trophies, one visiting Otaki to play the holders of the Kinuiburgh Feathers, and the other to Bedding to try conclusions with the rink in possession of the Manson and Barr Cup. The Otaki Club had held the feathers for some considerable time, and last year two attempts by Foxton rinks to wrest them from the ladders were unsuccessful, and Otaki also successfully defended against; a Levin team this season. Yesterday's game was a very close one, and an extra head had to be played to decide it. Foxton scored one on this head, thus winning by 1!) points to IS. -The game was close throughout, the biggest margin between the teams being after the eighteenth head, when Foxton had a lead of four, 18 —14. Each side scored on 11 heads.

In the game for the Aiauson and Barr Cup the final scores were the same as in the Otaki match, but the odd point was in favour of the ladder’s. Feilding has hold the Cup since last season, and this year defeated challenging' rinks from Palmerston and Terrace End by large margins, hi the Jirst few heads yesterday the scoring was even, the totals reading four all after Iho fifth head had been played. In the next live heads Feilding drew away, adding 111 to their previous total, as against an addition of a single point on the part of the visitors. Foxton scored nine in the next four heads, and Feilding then put on two singles; 18 —14. The visitors scored one point each on the T7th, 18th and 19th heads: IS —17. On the twentieth head Foxton was lying three, hut the Feilding skip shifted the jack with his last bowl, and a line measure gave the home .team one. The visitors scored one on the last head .
