MARTIN MEMORIAL FUND.
AN APPEAL. Several public meetings have been held in Palmerston N. to consider the best, means of perpetuating the memory of the late Dr. A. A. A considerable sum of money is already in hand for the purpose, and it is felt the wishes of the late Doctor would be as nearly complied with as possible by erecting the proposed institute, which would bo of inestimable value at the hospital where the doctor devoted considerable time in surgical work. About £2,500 is required to accomplish the object, and with the Government subsidy of 24s in the £, it is felt by the Committee that this amount will be obtained. The public are cordially invited to subscribe to the fund; any sum will be gratefully received and acknowledged by the “Herald,’’ or may be forwarded to .1. A. Nash Esq., Mayor of Palmerston and chairman of the bund, or the .secretary, Mr Jno. Pcrmain, c/o Box--252, Palmerston N.
