There is n gooff story of up old Scottish soldier told in a war hook just published in London; A Boche ’plane was being chased by a British ’plain l and making heavy weather of it. Naturally the men in the trenches on both sides were wildly excited about it. The story is, they forgot everything, ami were simply lining the parapets, yelling encouragement. to their respective airmen.. Seeing this, a pawky old Scot began making accurate but leisurely target; practice; carefully picking out Bodies 40 or 50 yearffs from each other, su that not to give the show away too soon. He did prclty well, but. was bitterly disappointed when the Bodies’ Archibald Ljrceff our ’plane to rise and I lie spectators took cover. “Och, no a’lhcgithcr sae badly, suit,” says Scotty to his plaloon commander. “Ah managed to gel nine o’ the fadeless bodies; but Ah Impel, for I bo round dozen!’’
