HIGH COMMISSIGNER’S REPORT. The High Commissioner cabled yesterday at noon as follows: — The hemp market is (irm, and places continue to advance. It is reported that owing to the freights difficulty New Zealand offerings are very small, and buyers are cautious in anticipation of accumulated stocks coming forward later. The market is speculative. Quotations nominal: good fair New Zealand hemp per ton £SO ss, fair £55, government graded fair Manila £6O, coarse £SB. January-Mareh shipment, good fair New Zealand £s(l, fair £53, government graded fair Manila, £59, coarse £s(i. The output from Manila for the week was 28,000 bales.
